Meet NASA engineer, Eric Lyness and learn about the future of space exploration!

Speaker: Eric Lyness, NASA space flight software systems engineer has worked on many missions including The Curiosity Rover's mobile lab SAM (Sample Analysis at Mars), which has been collecting and studying soil samples from the red planet since 2012;

LADEE, which explored the lunar exosphere in 2014; MAVEN, the Mars orbiter that is still studying the upper atmosphere of that planet; and the European Space Agency's ExoMars Mission, which is scheduled to launch in 2018.

Mr. Lyness is also part of the team working on the mission's mass spectrometer MOMA, which stands for Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer ... it will be looking for signs of whether life ever existed on Mars as well as NASA's DaVinci mission, which seeks to analyze the atmosphere of the planet Venus.
